Most men struggle with bras. But for one Edinburgh property manager, it's a challenge that has benefits beyond the obvious.
Simon Keane, 27, of Edinburgh, will attempt to break the world record for the number of bras he can unfasten in one minute. The event, on October 31 in Finnegan's Wake on the Grassmarket's Victoria Street, is being organised to raise money and awareness for breast cancer. October 31 is the last day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The goal is to beat the current world record of 42 bras in 60 seconds. The event's organiser, Robyn Keystone, is hoping to get sponsorship for the event from a local underwear shop so the participants can wear 60 pink bras (briefly) for the record attempt.
This story, featured in the Herald and Post (Jan-June 08) is worthy. And breast cancer needs attention and funds. It gathers a lot of the money contributed for charities as it's so high profile. Arguably though, its much prettier and easier to digest than prostate cancer. What say you to us organising a similar event for whipping men's trews off? Not because it'll raise money but just for the funniness and to see if men are gullible enough to go for that too...
