Eat a Mountain

Stac Polly is my recommendation. I’ve only been to the Grindlay Street branch but it does inspire confidence. It’s the sort of place I’d say is ideal for groups AND romantic meals for two as the layout gives you the feeling of intimacy. The décor is understated and the staff helpful but not over-egging it as in some high-class restaurants, like say, The Tower or Browns.

The food we had was high quality and inspires you to think you might try that. Everyone raves about the filo pastry-wrapped haggis, so give it a spin. But the pheasant I had was tender, subtle – amazing.

Most times myself and the mr (my spin on ‘the missus’) eat out we end up sharing my food as I choose more wisely. This time we split raspberry cheesecake – so rich and fruity I thought I was eating Steven Fry.
