Edinburgh Outdoor Shops

What do you do on Edinburgh's (many) rainy days? If hillwalking, climbing and running or even water-based sports are your passion, you probably have a wee gear habit. OK, so your Edinburgh apartment can probably handle a bit more goretex, so let's have a look what your options are.

Run and Become (Dalry Road) and Run-4-It (Lothian Road): both organise running groups and have regular sales. Edinburgh-ites will find these city centre locations really convenient. Plus you can get you gait (walk to the uninitiated) analysed so you get the perfect shoes for your style of running.

Tisos (Rose Street and Leith): pretty much the only place to get climbing gear in Edinburgh, unless you count t'internet.

Blacks (Elm Row and Frederick Street): a good overall range of outdoorsy gear plus knowledgeable staff for those of us who don't know everything!
