Review: Scottish Natterings - Edinburgh Happenings

Personal, friendly and certainly individual, the two ladies blogging on these pages (Scottish Natterings - Edinburgh Happenings) deserve an award. Staying nicely short of out-and-out ranting, the blogs still maintain identity and a real experience of Edinburgh.

One of the best elements are the recent, bright and generously-sized photos of the capital. There are also video clips too, which gives the site a wee bit of variety. Some of the photos seem to have the bloggers themselves included - maybe a modelling contract could be on the cards eh ladies?

One of the blogs that is certainly worth reading is the September discussion of the Visit Scotland website. The citicism of there being too many photos of Scottish landmarks is partly justified. The photos of The Ring of Brodgar and Eilean Donan Castle are worth seeing by residents and visitors alike. But the photos with people in are fairy lazy and do not really engage or inspire the user.

One writer compared tourist organisations such as Visit Scotland to flies riding on the back of a donkey and claiming credit for its moving. Scotland sells itself, some would argue.
