Leith Festival is a trendsetter. With the Edinburgh International festival moving to June and the Edinburgh International Festival possibly poised to do the same, Leith Festival seems to have started a stampede. With events for everyone, together with a gala day and parade set to finish off the 2009 Leith Festival, its no wonder this wee festival is attracting a lot of attention.

Burlesque to home-grown literature and artwork – the Leith Festival 2009 will be as full of contrasts and surprises as the 2008 event. Organised entirely by volunteers, the event is a celebration of all that’s best about Leith. Local Businesses become ‘Friends of Leith’ to support the Festival and improve trade.
