The area around Edinburgh has always had a strong brass band tradition – it acts as the focus of various small communities. Reflecting its importance, Brass in the Park 2009 is predicted to be Midlothian’s largest public event in 2009.

Newtongrange Park is the place to go! Celebrate the culture and traditions of Midlothian’s towns and villages with the residents, including not just brass band music but the communities that lie behind the bands and junior football clubs.
