• Cross the inspiring Forth Bridge to the 'Kingdom of Fife', travelling along the East Neuk, through coastal villages and harbours, once-thriving fishing centres made richer on trade with the Continent
• Traverse the heart of the Lomond Hill descending to Loch Leven (scene of Mary Stuart’s imprisonment and escape). And onto the pretty village of South Queensferry, site of Hawes Inn, from RL Stevenson’s novel Kidnapped
