For some it was the 0730 start on the Sunday after celebrating their Saturday success that made the weekend so tiring. If you’re not so skilled in map reading, navigating around Edinburgh’s mean streets would certainly have been a challenge for you.

One of the most energetic and high rise challenges was certainly the ScottishApartment.com Harbour Apartments event, where competitors had to run up to Edinburgh apartments at the top of Harbour Apartments’ block.

Did you know you can go skiing on Edinburgh’s Queen Street? You could if you took part in Rat Race 2008. ScottishApartment.com’s second checkpoint was a Nintendo Wii Fit ski slalom challenge.

We had teams telling us it wasn’t like pinball, that they were unbalanced and even filming each other, matrix-style.

Yes we know the organisers have awarded the points but here are some new categories:

• Best name: whale oil beef hooked
• Most ‘together’ team: The Ladies. Thanks for lining up behind each other to all ski while only one of you could actually take part. Great team spirit!
