Checklist of items to remember:
- Passport
- Visa
- Health insurance
- Travel documents
- Your proof of booking
- Check-in information, see: Harbour Check-in Information and Check-in Information for our other apartments
- Money and Travellers Cheques
- Toiletries (we supply towels and linen)
- Travel adaptor if you’re bringing electrical items – the UK has a 3-point plug, with rectangular prongs
- Contact List / Address Book.
Avoid Jet Lag & Travel Sickness:
- Switch to the local time of your destination as soon as possible
- On arrival, stay awake until you are acclimatised to local time
- Take travel sickness medication early enough for it to have an effect at the start of your flight if you suffer from headaches or anxiety while travelling.
Make Flying More Pleasurable:
- Suck sweets or drink water while taking off or landing as these can prevent your ears 'popping' from the change in air pressure
- Have emergency toothpaste and toothbrush plus a change of underwear in your hand luggage in case your suitcase is delayed
- If your airline gives you hot towels, place over your face and breathe through them, as this can also help your nose, ears and mouth adjust to cabin air pressure better
Avoid Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT):
- Wear travel socks; your doctor can often fit socks individually to you
- Drink plenty of water; one 50cl bottle per hour would be useful.
