Jazz, stand-up comedy and hip music - perhaps not what you'd expect from respectable Queen Street, which runs parallel with George Street and Princes Street, set just north of both. The street woos back her her high-class clientele with private members club, the Scotch Whisky Society, the National Portrait Gallery and the Royal College of Physicians. Something to whet all palates!
Queen Street Gardens, reserved for residents (naturally) border the north side of the street and provide a picturesque prospect north towards Leith's shore, from the upper floors of Queen Street properties.
Queen Margaret's Cathedral marks the east end of Queen Street, together with an immense Eduardo Paolozzi
sculpture. The west end of Queen Street becomes the north-west corner of Charlotte Square, where you can
easily find quality West End serviced apartments, perfect for corporate apartments, elbow to elbow with The National Trust for Scotland's inspiring properties 28 Charlotte Square and on the other side of the square, 'Georgian House'; their other notable Edinburgh property is on The Royal Mile, the 16th-century Gladstone's Land.
Walk up North St Andrew's Square to find the city's bus station on your left, but equally walk up North Castle Street to gain possibly the best view of Edinburgh Castle (with the possible exception of the Grassmarket).
