Edinburgh Rat Race: Harbour Apartments 600 speedy check-ins

July 2007 saw a record-breaking 600 people take part in Edinburgh’s Rat Race Urban Adventure, making it the biggest Rat Race ever! ScottishApartment.com joined the 4th annual event by sponsoring a race checkpoint at one of our prestigious Harbour Apartments.

In the Rat Race., three-person teams receive a course layout briefly before the race. Teams race to checkpoints throughout the city and perform tasks ranging from eating deep-fried mars bars to climbing giant totem poles. Each checkpoint is worth a different amount of points, depending on its location and task. The quickest team to get 50 points and make it back to the finish line wins.

Getting into the true spirit for the race, we filled our courtyard at Harbour Apartments with balloons, banners and even a camera crew! Our Rat Race visitors had to hike up six flights of stairs, then run around an apartment to look for clues which included signs, objects and even a random couple in bed! After racing around the apartment, they then dashed back to the courtyard and wrote down 10 benefits and facilities that are available in a serviced apartment and not in a hotel.
