Blink and you’ll miss it – Edinburgh Marathon has been awarded the title of ‘fastest marathon in the UK’ by Runners World magazine. In a survey of the most popular UK marathons, Edinburgh came out top. With this epic run taking in Princes Street, the world-famous Arthur’s Seat and Edinburgh’s east coast, it’s no surprise that organisers for Edinburgh Marathon 2009 predict entries from 16,000 runners.

Don’t Bite Off More than you can Chew – Hairy Haggis Team Relay

How quickly can you take your ChampionChip off? Not a bizarre striptease interview question, but an important training requirement. If 26.2 miles sounds too much, due to injury or a late start to your training, don’t worry. Gather 3 other runners and work as a team to complete the course as a relay team. Better still, enter as for a charity and avoid entry fees – but you do have to raise money for them... and get quick at changeovers!
