Fans will find teams of the same tier kept well apart in the 6 pools of teams. The Heineken Cup Final will be held in Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium on the weekend of 23-24 May 2009.

Not familiar with the Heineken Cup tournament? The Heineken Cup acts like a bridge between domestic and international rugby. A total of 24 teams start the tournament, which is organised by the European Rugby Cup. In 2009, the final is part of the Homecoming Scotland 2009 events calendar.

Trying hard. The event celebrates its 14th season in 2008/9 and is still going strong, with 10,000 ticket sales already for the Edinburgh 2009 final. “We are delighted to have already sold more than 10,000 tickets for Edinburgh 2009. This level of sales some four months out from the start of the tournament clearly demonstrates that the Heineken Cup final is becoming more and more of a ‘must-see’ event for rugby fans across Europe,” said ERC chairman Jean-Pierre Lux.
